Client: Amex
Agency: ustwo

The project

The Amex app lets customers manage their card, track spending, make payments and also offers special offers and rewards.

My involvement

I was brought on board for 6 months to work on new and existing features in the app. I was also part of a team that worked on discovery for a complete overhaul of the app.

I’m not able to share visual artefacts from this project but this page contains more information about my involvement.

App features and testing

As part of an Agile team, I worked on new and existing features for the American Express mobile app (Android and iOS). I created flows, wireframes and prototypes using Sketch, Invision and Axure.

The prototypes I created in Axure were complex, with many interactive elements. They accurately calculated numeric information, to enable us to get a more accurate sense of the participants’ reactions.

I scripted and conducted user testing sessions and analysed and presented the results to stakeholders.

App Overhaul

I was part of a team which worked on discovery for an overhaul of the app.

I scripted and conducted user interviews with real customers, to discover pain points in the current app. We used prototypes to rapidly test new ideas with participants. I also worked on competitor and best in class research to inspire and support ideas.

We created a final deck of our findings, which I helped to present to client stakeholders, alongside my team.
