NFC programming app

Road maps, information architecture, card sort, navigation, user flows, wireframes

Client: Moo
Agency: Mentally Friendly (now Future Friendly)

The project

Printing company Moo developed business cards embedded with an NFC chip that triggers digital actions.

They needed an app that allows the user to control what actions are on each card.

My involvement

I worked in a team to map out all of the features needed in road mapping sessions. Then I worked on user flows, navigation and wireframes to fully define the app.

Roadmaps

Working with a project manager and a developer, we mapped out all of the necessary features and established what needed to be done to achieve them.

Using Agile methodologies we organised everything into stories and epics.

Card Sort

To aid in defining the navigation for the app, I used a card sort. I asked members of the agency who were working on different projects to do the card sort exercise with me, to see what architecture made sense to most people.

App Flow

I created a user flow which showed all of the possible paths through the app.

Wireframes

Using Google’s Material Design specifications, I laid out high fidelity wireframes for the app.
